A rust-inhibiting coating that is not a paint. Actually neutralizes existing rust by changing the chemical composition of rust to an inert protective barrier coating to stop future rusting. You can apply by rag, brush, hand sprayer, roller and even pump up sprayer on larger surfaces. Or you can immerse smaller parts completely as in the case of a dip tank. Remember to wear gloves and or goggles for protection.Recommended for use under oil base paint or primer. One gallon of Oxy-Gone covers 600 sq. feet. It dries overnight, makes a lasting bond between rusted metal and paint. (Note: Oxy-Gone is not actually a paint.)Use a wire brush or wire wheel to remove loose paint, rust scales, dirt, oil, and anything else accumulated on the surface. After doing this, apply a coat of Oxy-Gone and let it dry (overnight).Sometimes, a dry, grayish white powdery film develops. Simply brush off before painting. Oxy-Gone is water-based and ready to use. COMBO variation comes with 2 Empty quart bottles and 2 triggers (color of trigger may vary).
